As a result of the extraordinary business vision and the restless and entrepreneurial spirit of Adelino Dias Costa, a factory of small metallic furniture - beds, safes and sinks - named Adico is born in Avanca.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Adico dominates completely the new technologies and extends its offer to hospital furniture, area where it becomes a reference in the national scene. Adelino Dias Costa dies and is replaced in the leadership of Adico by Ant\u00f3nio Augusto Dias Costa, his nephew. The period between the April Revolution and Adico's entry into the European Community was the most complicated time for Adico, due to the reduction in exports and the increased cost of labor in the sector.
The entry into the European market brought enormous challenges to Adico and conditioned the actions of its new leader. The financial consolidation of the company brought in staff with higher education and diversified the offer with school and office furniture.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

With the death of Ant\u00f3nio Augusto Dias Costa, Adico's management was taken over by his five daughters - Assun\u00e7\u00e3o, Adelina, L\u00facia, Teresa and Ana Costa - who still today oversee the company's administration, having since then professionalized Adico's top management.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Career Award, in the 2nd edition of the National Competition of Furniture Design, an award given by AIMMP - Association of the Wood and Furniture Industries of Portugal.
Adico is one of the companies invited to be part of Experimentadesign's \"Purchase Order<\/em>\" exhibition. \"Purchase Order<\/em>\" brings together about two hundred examples of success coming from national companies, in reference sectors such as porcelain, glass, cork and footwear, as well as new products that make use of the most advanced technologies, aimed at niche markets or for export.<\/p>

Challenged by Dimens\u00e3o Nova, with the support of Adico, several Portuguese creatives paid a tribute to the Portuguese chair. Architects \u00c1lvaro Siza and Jo\u00e3o Paci\u00eancia, artists Jos\u00e9 de Guimar\u00e3es, Leonel Moura, Sofia Areal, designers Nini Andrade Silva, Bolos Quentes, Est\u00fadio Volta, Est\u00fadio Dobra, Mo-Wo among many others, present new ideas for the emblematic chair, giving it a new life, if possible, even more Portuguese, in an exhibition directed by architect Nuno Ladeiro.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In the strategy to separate the business units, hospital and furniture, Adico acquires the majority of the capital of this company, a reference Iberian player in the sector, where it also develops the centenary brand AdicoCare<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>
