Adico opens its doors to young creators, the designers of the future, and together with them, designs the next 100 years.
Under the motto "Design for the next 100 years", the Adico Award aims to highlight the very particular characteristics of the brand's furniture pieces: timelessness, durability, functionality and the very particular aesthetic commitment that makes Adico part of the visual memory of the Portuguese, even if it is almost anonymous.
Reflecting on the timeless nature of the brand and its desired permanence and continued affirmation in the furniture market, Adico believes that the secret of success and longevity lies in the valorization of national design and the ability to reinvent itself, always remaining faithful to its DNA.
The Award distinguished the three students who best integrated the Adico DNA in their proposals. According to the briefing presented, each student would develop between two and three products that would combine, but not depend on each other, obeying a set of specificities and constraints, the main one being the "prohibition" of giving in to the temptation of designing a chair or a table.

The prize, which includes a 1.000€ value and an internship in the company, is an"opportunity for growth and learning, not only as a designer, but also as a person. Working at ADICO will be a strong creative stimulus for me, while allowing me to combine my two vocations, engineering and design, harmonically",admits the young woman.
With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Diana Gomes has always been involved in the world of the arts:"This competition allowed me to explore my more creative side, deepening my inventive skills, and the fact that I won it is a great incentive for me to continue to work combining design and engineering, which is, in fact, what I want to do in the future".”.
The winning proposal sought to take advantage of the resources and materials available to ADICO by developing a line of functional and versatile products that emphasize the concordance between the user experience and nature.
In 2nd and 3rd places were Pedro Pêgo and Gabriela Figueiredo, awarded with a prize of 600 and 300 euros, respectively.
