Located on one of Hamburg's main thoroughfares, Adico opened its first international office and street store on November 3rd.
This project is the result of a collaboration with glocalMADE, Adico's local partner, and aims to serve as a space where brand enthusiasts can find its most iconic products, such as the famous Portuguese Chair, along with a range of other items from the collections Classics and Outdoor.
With this opening, Adico establishes its first international commercial and logistics hub in Hamburg, Germany, with the goal of strengthening connections with Germany, Austria, and Denmark, and entering the markets of Poland and the Czech Republic.
The Hamburg Hub is Adico's first commercial and logistics project outside of Portugal and also marks the brand's first street store. The process began at the end of 2022 and, in addition to developing a business plan, required a marketing plan based on market research that led Adico to directly present itself in these markets with its own brand (adico1920.com), local social media presence, renaming of some products, and its first street store, marking a new phase of B2C communication, as highlighted by Miguel Carvalho.
The spirit and vibrant atmosphere of Hamburg, its commercial significance as it hosts one of Europe's major seaports, and the solid growth of the German and Austrian markets over the past three years are some of the main reasons that motivated the choice of this location for Adico's first international venture.
Hamburg is also renowned for its perfect blend of history, modernity, and diversity, as well as its rich cultural life with numerous theaters, museums, and art galleries. "It is in this bustling environment of art, culture, history, and traditions that Adico and its design seamlessly fit. The inspiration for what Adico's DNA is today can be traced back to the Bauhaus school, one of the most significant expressions of Modernism in design and architecture and the world's first design school," states the company's administrator.
